4. Lifestyle Activities
Health and wellbeing is vital to our quality of life. These photos were taken locally, mainly by myself, showing the wide range of lifestyle activities available. Brighton is the second most popular leisure resort in the UK after London. This collage of leisure and fun shows why people of all ages and abilities want to live here.
The following activities are accessible within 15 minutes of Rottingdean:
Golf, tennis, sailing, wind-surfing, swimming in the sea and Lido, paddle boarding, beach volley ball, table tennis, snooker, ice skating, roller-blading, fishing, horse-riding, cycling, night sky photography, hang gliding, indoor gyms, hill walking, art galleries, theatres, and outdoor musical events. Brighton has been home to many musical artists including Nick Cave, Norman Cook, David Gilmour, Adele, Celeste, Peter Andre, Nick Berry, Ian Drury, Captain Sensible, Bonobo, and Maisie Peters.
Brighton Football Club at the American Express Stadium is only 15 minutes on the local bus. Brighton FC with 30,000 seats for supporters reached the top 10 in the Premier League in 2022 winning against Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Manchester United. World class sports is on our doorstep.
The under-cliff route provides safe cycle paths to avoid car traffic and walkers for 20 Kilometres from Rottingdean to Shoreham. Many other interesting local country walks are shown in the attachments.
The combination of a lively seaside resort next to national parkland and conservation areas allows all ages to participate in multiple activities.
Finally we have the £450 million newly built Royal Sussex Hospital 10 minutes bus ride from Rottingdean offering the whole range of NHS and private medical and eye treatments with the latest technologies. This is supported by local GP practices in Saltdean 5 minutes away.
